Diablo 3 Wizard Leveling Guide
Diablo 3 wizard guide
Overview
Wizards are known for their damage in Diablo 3. This class can unleash extremely high damage bursts and do it really quick. Wizards are masters of fire, arcane and ice.
Players can choose which one of these they will master or go mixed and take them all.
Wizards can take care of big groups of monsters with ease and maintain steady damage per second at the same time.
Wizards are also known as “glass cannons” meaning this class is weak if you let damage hit you. This is why most players favor ice spells to slow enemies down.
Farming tactics
Wizards should always focus on killing big groups of monsters at the same time as their area of effect spells are very strong.
Using a build which has decent burst abilities and good survivability is critical when starting out with wizard. Once you master the class better you should go all out damage and kite monsters when needed.
Wizards use Arcane Power as resource
Spells and abilities cost arcane power. This is like mana in many other games. Arcane power generates very quickly depending on your gear.
Every wizard should learn to use the right spell rotation to save arcane power as big spells cost a lot and can drain you out fairly quickly.
What weapons and armor do Wizards use?
Wizards use robes as armor and staves, swords, offhand orbs, daggers, spears, axes and bows. Mostly common is a dagger with orb or 2handed staff.
As you level up you can equip better and better stronger armor to use. Wizards as many other classes have their own class items as “magical orbs” to use.
Leveling tips
Collect gear with a lot of experience bonus when you are leveling up. Forget gold and magical find bonus as lower level monster drops are not worth much.
Good stats to use as Wizard is mana regeneration items and intellect items. As you level up all resistance becomes valuable but before inferno mode it is all about intellect.
Remember to keep your follower with you at all times. I would suggest using Templar as he can be modified to tank monsters for you. With this way you can chill out in the background and shoot monsters down with ease.
Also if you have a friend it is easy to make him tank for you to maximize the damage output. A wizard who can freely shoot in the back is one of the most powerful class in Diablo 3.
